Jazz Open Ostrava 2025

Dear friends, allow us to introduce the headliner of this year's Jazz Open Ostrava:

On June 19, 2025, we will present the fantastic French band ELECTRO DELUXE at the Slezskoostravský Castle, a group that has been among the absolute world elite for several years. What truly sets ELECTRO DELUXE apart from others are their electrifying, captivating, and almost hypnotic live performances. The face of the band is the charismatic singer James Copley.

Their ability to improvise and connect with the audience creates an unforgettable atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression. They have performed at the most prestigious festivals, including Marciac, Jazz à Vienne, Montreal Jazz Festival, Printemps de Bourges, Solidays, and many more.

ELECTRO DELUXE are renowned for their uncompromising style and musical experimentation. They dared to combine the freedom of jazz with synthetic sounds and electronic music, incorporating elements of soul, hip-hop, and R&B. They previously performed at Jazz Open Ostrava in 2018, delivering one of the most memorable concerts to date. You definitely have something to look forward to!

We are in discussions with the outstanding vocal sextet SKETY. This year, the group released their fourth album, titled "Fascinating Futuristic Rhythm," and their concerts are exceptionally captivating and successful.

On June 12, we have prepared a special concert, "Tribute to Chick Corea". The phenomenal young Polish pianist Piotr Matusik, along with his trio and American drummer Frank Parker, will perform at Studio 1 of Czech Radio Ostrava on the exact day of what would have been the 84th birthday of the music genius Chick Corea. The concert will be streamed on YouTube and broadcast live on ČRo Ostrava radio waves. The event is supported by the Polish Institute in Prague.

As tradition dictates, we will induct legends into the "Hall of Fame." Since the project's inception in 2006, one of our ambitions has been to introduce and bring young, talented jazz musicians to the professional stage through the "Jazz Juniors" series. This year, we will present twin brothers Alex and Maxim Šesták, who shined as children in the American NBC TV show "Big Little Shots."

On June 18, the traditional Jam Session will take place at DOCK, serving as a prelude to the main concert.
